Welcome to the Columere Park Community Association website

Our website provides updates on community plans, information on local events and links to regional services.

Columere Park is a private community located on a plateau overlooking Columbia Lake, off of Kootenay Highway 93/95, at the headwaters of the mighty Columbia River. Our quiet community is surrounded by the shores of Columbia Lake, a 40 acre nature preserve, Coy’s Par 3 golf course and Dutch Creek wet lands area. Within the community there are several areas that herons, deer and other wildlife call home. The community is made up 250 single family properties, some are full time residents and others are recreational property owners, fondly known as the weekenders.

Columere was a popular hunting and fishing area that the early community settlers had frequented as far back as the 1940’s. The Coy’s were the first to settle in the area and started farming in 1947. Columere Park got its official start as a cottage community in 1959 when the original five purchased lot 450 and subdivided it into 106 lots, prices starting at $250.  Columere has since grown into one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in the Columbia Valley.

The Columere Park Community Association had its beginnings in 1974 and was incorporated in 1985. The CPCA Board of Directors and a dedicated group of volunteers are the caretakers, administrators and event coordinators that look after the facilities and social gatherings that the members enjoy throughout the year. The community also works with local government, service agencies, conservation organizations, utilities and businesses to maintain and improve the quality of life in the Park.

The nearby towns of Canal Flats, Fairmont Hot Springs, Windermere and Invermere offer recreation, shopping, dining and a wide variety of other services.
