CPCA Board Meeting May 17, 2015, Coy’s barn, 9:15a.m.
All members of board were present Review and approval of minutes; Garry motioned to approve the April 4th minutes, Paul seconded, carried.
Beach cutting; Paul reported Garrett has started with beach maintenance, he has had good feedback from community. Dandelions have been sprayed.
Job allocations;
- Sprinkler repairs and setting; Kevin; suggested we contract out for repairs and maintenance. Shane Grey’s name from Fairmont was suggested. Will look into. Currently need access to pumphouse to turn on and set system. Once panel gets affixed to outside of pumphouse this will no longer be a problem. Garry and Kevin were to meet with Ron regarding this. Ron has panel.
- Sign Placement; Jim Waddell volunteered to put signs out this season when necessary
- Kayaks and Paddleboards; Kayaks are out, Bruce will deliver 6 sets of paddles to Rae’s, 2 new sets go down to beach. Kevin and Bruce will check into tethers for paddleboards.
- Garden Maintenance; Edie will oversee planting of memorial gardens, she will use mostly perennials, and it will cost her around $100, we have budgeted for $150.
- Organizer for beach cleanup; Glen agreed to organize, Garry will assist, refreshments of water and pop were agreed to be supplied by CPCA.
- Suggestion/ Concern Review; Mike forwarded board the format prior to meeting, all agreed this looked great. Val said she would link to website as a comment box, she will have this done in the next couple weeks. Bruce agreed to review messages, and review with board at meetings.
Update on Members Paid; Per Bonnie already 60 members had paid their dues. Bonnie expects to have financials ready by end of next week.
NG Gift presentation; will defer till Beach BBQ, seems a more appropriate time, all agreed.
Review of 10:30 agenda; Fence; Priority is transparency and to make a recommendation
Taxes; Board agreed to continue to research this as a possibility until the AGM. Mike suggested there should be a review of membership fees every 3-5 years. Bruce suggested board should do due diligence to determine if it is even possible to pursue this given clause written into many property titles.
